Podarcis erhardii

Velopoula Population  KORNILIOS et al., 2025

Synonyms:

Podarcis milensis gerakuniae   MÜLLER, 1938

Terra Typica:

Velopoula island

Taxonomic notes:

As KORNILIOS et al. (2025) discovered through genetic testing, the wall lizards on the island of Velopoula are not, as previously assumed, Podarcis milensis gerakuniae, but Podarcis erhardii. Since no subspecies has been named for this occurrence, we list this Podarcis erhardii occurrence as the ‘Velopoula population’.
